Here’s a detailed explanation of what exactly is stored in VRAM:
1. Stored Textures: These are the graphical materials that are applied to 3D models in a game1. They can include everything from the color of an object to its reflectivity.
2. Detailed Meshes: These are the wireframe models that form the basis of 3D objects. The more detailed the mesh, the more realistic the object appears.
3. Positional Data: This determines where objects are in relation to each other1. This is crucial for rendering scenes accurately.
4. Buffers: These are used for a variety of purposes, including storing information about color, lighting, shadows, and more. They help in adding depth and realism to the scene.
5. Image Rendering Data: VRAM stores data that the GPU needs to render images on a display. This includes data for each pixel that needs to be displayed.
6. Texture Maps: These are a type of texture that is used to add detail and texture to a 3D model.
7. Graphics-Related Tasks: Any other data that your GPU requires for rendering can also be stored in VRAM.
