AW: AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition: So schlägt sich die Karte im ersten Test
Da der Herr Journalist es offenbar nicht für nötig hält, vollständig und damit sachlich deutlich klarer zu zitieren, hole ich das gerne ohne bias stellvertretend mal nach:

"The one caveat to this is that the Vega architecture itself is still unoptimized in the driver. But this would affect gaming and non-gaming workloads most of the time. So if the driver isn’t ready for ANYTHING, then that’s a valid concern, but it applies to ALL workloads and not just games."
D.h., der (Gaming-) Treiber ist zwar optimiert für Gaming, aber eben leider nicht für Vega. Auch PCPer bestätigt damit nochmal was auch alle bisherigen Bechmarks mit Vega FE zeigen, dass etwaige Architekturverbesserungen, die Vega neben rein höherem Takt mit sich bringen sollte, durch den Treiber derzeit wohl noch nicht abgerufen werden.
Die mögliche Performance eines finalen RX Vega bleibt damit nach wie vor erst einmal reine Spekulation.
Laut PCPer-Review nicht. Mit Fan auf 100% (~4.900 U/min) lag die GPU-Temperatur bei 56 °C unter "load", aber am Takt hätte sich angeblich nichts wesentliches geändert:

The driver isn’t optimized for gaming.
I saw this pop up a lot during our stream yesterday, that the driver isn’t meant for gaming so it hasn’t been optimized for gaming. Instead, it’s only targeting “professional” level applications. First, that’s not the case and AMD has confirmed that. The driver has all the gaming optimizations that the other Radeon drivers would include up until at least the driver branching mentioned above. After that time, optimizations may or may not have made it in, as AMD tells it
