Hast du von so ner Aktion ernsthaft was anderes erwartet als riesige Walls-of-text ohne irgendwelche bedeutenden neuen Informationen?

Mal ehrlich - der arme Kerl darf doch auch nur das schreiben was sowieso schon mehr oder weniger bekannt ist. Was wirklich interessiert bzw. Infos mit wirklichem neuen Inhalt sind nach wie vor nicht für die Öffentlichkeit bestimmt. Er kann und darf keine echten Details zu Polaris verraten auch wenn das alle gerne hätten.

EDIT: The AMA is going on right now, and with all due respect to /u/AMD_Robert, who is just doing his job (and as usual, doing it well within the community), nothing is being said that the community doesn't already know. You may as well ask him about his favorite things to do on days off and his pets names.

Are 490 going to be on 14nm as well? My 280x is still kicking it strong but i want to upgrade both monitor/GPU by the end of next summer. Speaking of which , what will happen to the 300? Are they going to be phased out like last year 200?

Polaris is 14nm. Plain and simple. Any time any company flips over to a new lineup, the old products that got replaced are a "while supplies last" kind of deal.

Hört sich also sehr danach an, dass TSMC komplett aus dem Programm gestrichen wird. Lässt auf einen starken Samsung/GloFo Prozess hoffen

Da offenbar nur AMD_Robert antwortet und keiner sonst von AMD (oder kein anderen Account nutzt), kannst dir die ganzen anderen Kommentare sparen und gleich nur seine Antworten anzeigen lassen.
Da die Fragen meist in seinen Antworten nicht enthalten sind, musst du unter dem jeweiligen Kommentar auf "Kontext" klicken, dann bekommst nur die relevanten Beiträge angezeigt.

Ist wirklich etwas umständlich gemacht. Nicht angenehm so einen großen Thread dort zu verfolgen. Eine Millionen mal klicken, um die ganzen Kommentare überhaupt angezeigt zu bekommen, da mind. die Hälfte eingeklappt ist.

We have hardware that performs real-time frame resizing with 0% performance impact above and beyond the change in resolution selected by the user. This hardware became more advanced as we iterated GCN.
It is possible to explore shader-based methods, but that can introduce specific performance penalties of their own.
We will continue to look at adding additional resolution options to VSR.

Any word on the availability of the 845? I'd heard about it but couldn't find it anywhere (UK) so assumed it was a rumour.

They should start appearing soon for around $70 USD.

Kein autonomes Fahren von AMD, und neue Details zu GPUOpen auf der GDC (Game Developers Conference). Zur Erinnerung: GPUOpen ist eine neue Initiative von AMD, die kostenlose Unterstützung und Codeschnipsel/Programme bereitstellt. Das geht Hand in Hand mit der Boltzmann-Initiative. Dazu gehört auch die Ausführung von Cuda-Code auf AMD-Hardware. Das hat gestern bereits für einen neuen Vertrag gesorgt: News Release | Investor Relations | AMD

1) Is there a serious focus within AMD on exploiting machine learning applications through the Radeon hardware? We have seen compute capabilities of the Radeon GPUs being (literally) years ahead of the competition, yet the AMD does not seem too invested in supporting the (hugely) growing machine learning landscape.
2) Are there any plans of AMD entering the autonomous driving market? Or at least putting out dev platforms similar to Jetson TX1 and Drive PX2?
3) Will there be any further GPUOpen surprises this year in scientific computing and machine learning/AI?

1) Machine learning is more of a FirePro question. We just released some deep learning code on GPUOpen: HcCaffe – GPUOpen
2) Not that I am aware of.

Hier ging es um den Vulkan Treiber für Linux, der vom AMDGPU Kernel Module das Teil des Mainline Linux Kernels ist geladen wird. Zur Zeit nutzt AMDGPU die quelloffene Mesa OpenGL Implementation die etwas hinter AMDs OpenGL Catalyst Implementation hinterher hinkt was Performance und Features angeht. In Zukunft soll AMDGPU auch die closed source Catalyst Userland Treiber für OpenGL nutzen können. Selbes gilt für ihren Vulkan Treiber der erst closed source sein wird dann aber irgendwann open source wird.
