Neubau 6950xt oder 4070

Hello everyone, I am building a new PC and need advice. I will play and want to get into stable diffusion/AI as well.

Games I know I'll buy: Starfield ($100 game comes with AMD) Red Dead Redemption 2 MW2 Fortnite

As for the AMD, I know it has better raster performance and 16GB of VRAM.

Nvidia is considered better https://9apps.ooo/ for AI, but only has 12GB VRAM and less raw power

Both are similar prices (considering the Starfield bundle, you will technically be spending less on AMD)

I'm not sure which way to go. My total budget for the entire build is $1,500, so I'm guessing around $600 for the GPU is reasonable. Do you all think I should increase my GPU budget? Right now $600 is 40% of the budget.

Es kommt darauf an! Wenn du mehr Spielst und das KI Thema wirklich nur als Einstieg ist, kannst du auch die RX 6950 nehmen, weil wie du schon sagtest das Game dabei ist und da auch schon mal etwas sparst.

Die 6950er ist soweit ich das erlesen konnte auch nur knapp 7% langsamer als die 7900er also wäre die Karte schon ein schönes Brett

In welcher Auflösung und FPS möchtest du in Zukunft denn spielen?

KI mit einer 4070 ist Spielerei. Wäre das Argument jetzt RT gewesen oder Spritsparen. Eine klare Empfehlung zur 4070.
Aber the most bäng for the buck bekommt man mit der 6900XT.
KI? Workstation oder 4090.

Du vergleichst auch 2 verschiedene Leistungsklassen. Starfield wird auch auf der 4070 laufen. FSR geht auch bei Nvidia. Wieso ist KI für dich wichtig? Was willst du damit?

Ich hab mir neulich ne 4070 geholt und bin mit der Leistung Zufrieden.
Für mich war Raytracing Kauf Entscheident.
