Video lässt sich nicht abspielen

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe hier zwei Videos eines Bekannten. Es soll sich um komprimierte Videos einer Kamera handeln, die er von extern bekam.
Sie liegen mir im mp4-Format vor, lassen sich von mir aber mit keiner Standard-Software öffnen.

VLC tut gar nichts. MPC meldet, die Datei könne nicht gerendert werden.

Habe nach Forenrecherche MediaInfo drübergucken lassen.

Das hilft mir tatsächlich nicht wirklich weiter. VLC sollte alles unterstützen. Immerhin kann MediaInfo das Pixel-Format auslesen...
Habe außerdem blind versucht die Datei mit Handbrake und ffmpeg umzucodieren, natürlich ohne Erfolg.

MP4 ist kein Format sondern ein Container. Das verwendete Format ist übliches AVC/h.264 was jeder normale Videoplayer wie etwa der VLC problemlos abspielen sollte.
Tut er das nicht, ist die Datei beschädigt/defekt.

MP4 ist kein Format sondern ein Container. Das verwendete Format ist übliches AVC/h.264 was jeder normale Videoplayer wie etwa der VLC problemlos abspielen sollte.

MP4 ist wahrlich nur ein Container. MediaInfo zeigte in der Auswertung bereits AVC/h.264, darum war das nun nicht neu.
Da die normalen Videoplayer nichts anzeigten, hoffte dass es noch ein paar Geheimwaffen gibt zum Abspielen.

Eventuell nochmal ein versuchen, das Video auf der Kamera abzuspielen. Wenn die Datei nicht defekt ist, sollte ja die zumindest mit ihrem eigenen Format umgehen können.

Mir wurde gesagt, dass die Dateien bereits komprimiert wurden. Ich nehme also an, dass die Dateien wirklich beschädigt sind.

Nachtrag als Thread-Abschluss

Nach einigen Stunden Arbeit konnte ich doch noch Einblick in die Dateien bekommen.
Zunächst habe ich ein paar Infos aus diesem Thread aufgeschnappt.

Dabei testete ich die Software Video Repair Software. Anhand einer funktionierenden Datei und einer kaputten, versucht sie den Header zu reparieren und die Datei wieder abspielbar zu machen. Nun hatte ich keine funktionierenden Dateien, also versuchte ich irgendwelche AVC/h.264 Dateien. Tatsächlich lag nachher eine Datei vor, die ein paar Sekunden abspielbar war (nur mit dem Windows Media Player).

Das Konsolentool recover_mp4_to_h264 half mir gar nicht weiter.

Dann schaute ich mit einem HEX-Editor in die Video-Dateien und fand ganz oben den Begriff DAHUA. Ich googelte den Begriff und fand heraus, dass es mit Security-Systemen zu tun haben muss. Auf der Website des Herstellers (dahuasecurity.com) fand ich dann eine Liste mit Playern.
Ich habe die Dateien dann von *.mp4 zu *.dav umbenannt und konnte sie mit dem Player DH_Player_Eng_IS_V3.34.0.R.20150407 öffnen.
Eine Export-Funktion wandelte die Dateien dann in mehrere avi-Dateien um, die ich mit ffmpeg wieder zusammenbauen konnte...

(Die Software habe ich in einer Virtuellen Maschine installiert, falls sie Probleme hätte machen wollen. Schien aber nicht so.)

Das es sich um solche ungewöhnlichen Video-Dateien handelt habe ich nicht geahnt, das wurde mir auch nicht erzählt. Da hätte ich Euch lange raten lassen können.
