Schraubenverwechsler(in)
Hallo....

Folgendes Problem:
Ich glaube meine Graka is net Folding-geeignet...

Das gute Stück ist eine:

NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M G (NB8M-SE)

Folding Forum • View topic - 8400M GT not supported??

Alright, finally got it to work! Thanks MtM So here's what happened (for anyone else experiencing the same problem):

I downloaded CUDAZ like MtM said, which no surprise, worked, since I already knew that the 8400M GT was listed as a CUDA-supported card (although the confirmation that CUDAZ gave me was comforting ) and the driver installed was recommended by the GPU client guide. So no surprise there.

Then I checked if my UAC was enabled. It wasn't, so I left the client program folder where it was. Instead, I created a shortcut to my desktop and added the "-forcegpu nvidia_g80" to the shortcut properties. I ran the shortcut, and it took me (finally) to the configuration window and it worked just like the other systray clients. However, the client then crashed since it couldn't find cudart.dll. I found it in AppData\Roaming, and I copied it over to the program folder, which now ran like a charm. I did however need to copy over the data_nv folder (which containing the nvidia graphics for the viewer) from the same place as before (AppData\Roaming) to the program folder since without the data_nv folder the viewer would be missing the background graphics.

Although it's working now, some things still bother me. Why did the program not run and gave me "unsupported GPU or driver" errors when even the command prompt window said that it detected the 8400M GT GPU before it shut down? I even had the proper CUDA-supported drivers installed. I also probably wouldn't have had to copy over the cudart.dll and data_nv folder to the program folder if the client ran appropriately.

By the way, I was using the recommended video driver 174.55 from the GPU guide, for this install. After getting the GPU client to run I took a chance and updated the drivers to 182.08 (the latest according to nvidia's website). Performance has gone up from 3-5 ns/day to 30-40 ns/day, sometimes in the 50-60 range. What a difference updated drivers make!

Next up, overclocking the GPU

thx an MESeidel

??

Hab immernoch nicht wirklich Fortschritte erzielen können :/

Achja.. Is nen Laptop...
