Das Team bei Firefly Studios hat Stronghold 4 angekündigt - sehr zur Überraschung der eigenen Fangemeinde. Der Titel soll sich als Prequel zum ersten Teil auf die Stärken der Reihe zurückbesinnen.

sieht eher aus wie ein Stronghold -2² als nach Stronghold 4.

ohne innovativen Ideen und noch mals deutlich verbesserter Grafik so wie Animation ,

Stronghold 2 war durchaus beliebt und durchaus gut, wenn auch nicht so, wie das Original. Auch die Erweiterungen, wie der Fantasyteil hatten etwas. Stronghold 3 war halt komplett verbuggt und zwar so richtig übel.

Das hier eine Demo erschient, ist schonmal ein gutes Zeichen, dann kann man sehen, wie weit die sind.

Na da bin ich echt froh, dass ich die letzten neu auferlegten Teile nicht gekauft habe. Die ersten Lets Plays werden zeigen, ob ich mir den Teil hole. "Einbauen" ist eigentlich echt mein Ding, haben schon damals die Clanbrüder in Starcraft 1 gesagt

Och, ich finde das Video super. Sieht hübsch aus, hatte gleich wieder Stronhold feeling, keine Ahnung was ihr für Probleme habt. Ich finde die Grafik sogar ziemlich gelungen.

- weder von der Grafik noch den Animationen eher ein Remaster als ein Stronghold 4​

Eher ein Nachfolger mit wenig aufwand an weiter Entwicklung,
zur maximalen Gewinn Ausschöpfung als ein würdiger 4 Teil.

und die empfohlenen - Systemanforderungen unterstreichen das ganze auch noch deutlichste.

Wie kann es technisch angestaubt wirken wenn man die Unreal Engine 5 nutzt?
Ich finde es sieht richtig gut aus.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting Stronghold 4 anymore, but if Firefly really manages to make it a good castle-building RTS again, I'd be immediately interested.

For me, the new installment needs to focus more on the actual fortress construction. It shouldn't just be about building walls and placing gates, but also include more practical details: bottlenecks, courtyards, different gate types, improved pathfinding, defense zones, and perhaps even more influence from the construction methods themselves.

Especially with castles and their entrances, you quickly realize how important such details are. I was recently looking for a sliding door system for a small project and stumbled across Anwer Hardware. That reminded me that entrances, guide rails, stability, and space utilization aren't just important in reality, but could also add a lot more depth to a game like Stronghold.

If Stronghold 4 places more emphasis on believable castle structures, sieges, and sensible defenses, it could be really exciting. The main thing is that it's not just a pretty nostalgia title, but rather a game with a truly well-thought-out gameplay.

The team at Firefly Studios has announced Stronghold 4 – much to the surprise of their own fanbase. The title, a prequel to the first installment, is intended to revisit the series' strengths.
