Mic-in to mic-in möglich?
Ich habs zwar schon bei Reddit gefragt, jedoch keine eindeutige Antwort bekommen, hoffentlich gibts hier einen Experten.

I'm not sure where to ask but this place seems kind of what could answer my question. It's more about gaming, not music production but both are live I guess.
So im using an AT2035 with a pre-amp as a microphone on my pc. I installed virtual cable and VSThost to do all the sound processing via software. It takes the raw input from the sound card, puts it through a compressor, gate, etc. in realtime to the virtual cable output. The virtual cable output is my default microphone in windows. So if any sofware on my pc is using a mic signal, it's using the processed one. VST host is in auto-start mode, so it's always running when I turn on my pc. Also I got MicMute always running, so with a button press on my keyboard the mic is globally muted for every program.
Now my problem: I want this on my PS4 too
The thing is, I bought a USB sound card, plugged it into my PS4 and tried to use my mic with it. It picks everything up! Every lick of my lips(like no shit, it's a capacitor mic, duh). You can change the volume of the signal in the PS4 settings, but not the gate, etc. Buying a headset is not an option. I've got an ath-m50x plus this great mic, there is no going back!
So I'm looking for a cheap solution. I discovered that I can reassign the audio ports on my motherboard. So the mic-in on the backsite of my pc is now an audio-out. When I switch the routing in VSThost from the virtual cable to the new audio-out it actually works!(I plugged in my headphones to test)
TL;DR: So can I just buy a 3,5mm male-male cable and connect the motherboard mic-in(now an audio-out) with the USB soundcard mic-in on the PS4?
I've read about different voltages of line-in, line-out, mic-in, headphone out, etc. because they're made for devices with different impedance ratings and input sensitivities. But all I'm doing is routing a microphone signal(which is now going backwards/out of the mic-in) into another mic-in, so shouldn't I be fine? Would it work? Will the audio be clipping? What if I reduce the volume in the settings window of the device to like 10%?
Thanks!
