Upgrading to RX570 from nvidia - any issues?

So having eventually agreed that I will get a rx570 8gb, I just wanted to check that I actually could.

Does anyone know if I will have any issues in changing? I am currently using an Nvidia gtx 550ti. My cpu is an old i7 2600k, with 8gb ram. 1600 MHz ddr3 . As far as I know there shouldn’t be any issues?

What do you guys think?

Hello and welcome Jacobcullen,

Your CPU / Ram and Motherboard are fine for the rx 570.

But you may or may not have problems with the power supply that you didn´t specify.
What exact unit is it and how old is it?
You should also consider to upgrade to 16 GB Ram (used).
8 GB can be too little for a fluent experience in newer, more demanding games.

Hey Jacobullen

i would also recommend you to check out the RX580 8GB from Gigabyte which you can find at Mediamarkt or Saturn for about 190€ atm.

as EyRaptor already said, it would be great to know what kind of power supply youre using.

Just make sure that you have uninstalled all NVidia video drivers before powering up your system with the new RX card installed. Should you encounter any problems while uninstalling the NVidia drivers or while installing the AMD drivers, you could also try using the software DDU (choose the safe mode option and reboot afterwards) to clean your system of any faulty driver remains.
